(4 years)

We offer two AM sessions 9:15 11:45 as well as two PM sessions 12:45-3:15. Children are also able to attend wrap around care before and after these sessions. Children are given opportunities throughout the session to choose activities based on interests and explore concepts using all senses. We foster working in small group settings as well as in large group and independent situations. We include circle time, centers (science, math, art, sensory, writing/language), music, story, indoor/outdoor free choice and teacher initiated games. We have also included the Second Step curriculum which promotes emotion management and recognition, empathy training, and role playing.

The Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards will be used as a guideline for four-year-old kindergarten. In addition, the Little Scholars 4K curriculum is also aligned with the HighReach Learning themes. The early learning standards specify developmental expectations for children supported by practice-based evidence and scientific research. The early learning standards address a child's health and physical development, social and emotional development, language development and communication, and cognitive and general knowledge. The early learning standards can be used for children with developmental delays and disabilities by serving as a foundation for individualized programming decisions. The Wisconsin Early Model Learning Standards allow the program to be play-based and child-initiated.

Some of the activities we offer throughout the school year include: field trips (Hostel Shop, Adventure 212, Bulls eye Credit Union, Boston School Forest), a holiday program, family fun night, art gallery walk, guest speakers, holiday parties, entertainers, and preschool graduation.
